Forgive Me Bloggers, For My Dead End

It has been two weeks since my last post. My kids are in pre-school. Say it with me.
PRE.
SCHOOL.

Ok, Elias is in pre-school. He's preschool age (almost). He's ready anyway for pre-school. He's loving it. He's thriving. Right decision all the way around for Eli.

Lena on the other hand is in daycare. I admit it. Can I call it pre-school if she's only just turned one? I HATE the word daycare. I'm adjusting, but no more quickly than she is.

"Who..." she says with her teary eyes to my husband at drop-off three mornings a week,
"Who exactly are these strange people you are leaving me with?"

It's hard. (Or so I hear because I'm certainly not the one abandoning her at some strange place. I get to rescue her at the end of the day. )

So that's that. They're in pre-school.

And we are adjusting to a new schedule. New work schedule. It's difficult but I think it's good. Work is busy. I am there for almost a whole workday now and it's really hard to be away from my kids for almost 8 hours straight. I miss them. I wonder what they're doing. I worry about them. But then, on the flip side, I am away from my kids for almost 8 hours straight. I can go to lunch with grownups. I can finish a meal sitting down. I forgot what that was like.

And with the new schedule, I am exercising again. Running at least 3 miles, 3 days a week. Feels GOOD.

And the whole family got sick. The kids started showing symptoms when we got home from the first day of school. That does wonders for my guilty conscious. Thanks. Thanks a lot.

New schedule is only lacking the time set aside for me to write, as evidenced by my blogging absence. We're working on it. I miss my invisible friends on the internet.

We're leaving tomorrow for San Fransisco. JM and I are taking Lena and Elias is hanging with Auntie Tasha for the weekend. It will be the longest I've been away from my boy. I'm nervous. I mis him already. But I think it's good for us.

I will report on all of these things and more when I get back next week. I'll be back Monday...

Oh, wow. Big changes going on in Tamara Land. I'm glad you're getting a fun trip. I'm sure that adjustment is really difficult, but kids really adapt quickly. It's the parents who have the rough time more often!

Have a great trip!
